The meeting with ABET took place through what I would describe as the common interest between the research that ABET was doing at the time with Sottsass, Mendini and Archizoom - especially Branzi - on the problem of decorations and natural surface.

ABET has always shown incredible willingness in cultural terms, in fact it has always wanted to support research linked to culture.

As Director of the Centre George Pompidou I had decided to organise exhibitions on new trends to mark the Centre’s tenth anniversary.

It was 1897 and , in the same year, a new material was presented: Diafos

Another experience at the George Pompidou Centre which we found very interesting was when we decided to demonstrate the possibility of integrating designed inside the Centre’s Museum.

We organised an exhibition entitled "Culture of the object"
